About me
I'm Kenny Guillaume, born in 1993, and I call the beautiful (sometimes dreary) Belgium my home. Embarking on my photography journey was an awakening that came later in life. For over a decade, my grandfather's vintage Canon AV-1 film camera, a treasured relic from his era, sat silently somewhere in the back of my wardrobe, a poignant reminder of his love for capturing moments frozen in time. It was a camera gifted to me just before his passing, a symbolic heirloom that had remained dormant for far too long.
The passage of time, however, urged me to revisit this dormant piece of family history. With renewed determination, I decided to breathe life back into the Canon AV-1. Armed with a fresh battery and a handful of film rolls, I embarked on a journey down what I now fondly call "memoria road."
As the camera's shutter clicked and film advanced frame by frame, I discovered the magic of photography. It wasn't just about capturing images; it was about preserving memories, emotions, and stories within each frame. With every click, I felt a deeper connection to my grandfather and the generations of photographers who had used similar tools to craft their own narratives.
Today, my photographic journey continues with the Fujifilm X-T3, a remarkable digital camera that has become my trusted companion. While I now mainly use this modern marvel, I am forever thankful for my grandfather's Canon AV-1, for it was the humble beginning of my voyage.
My photographic voyage has been a continuous exploration of the world around me, from the mundane to the extraordinary, seeking beauty in the simplest of moments along "memoria road." Every click of the shutter is a tribute to the past, a homage to the artistry that transcends time.
This portfolio is a collection of my work, a visual testament to my journey down "memoria road," and an invitation to share in the stories I've captured through my lens. It's an ode to the legacy passed down to me, and I'm excited to have you join me on this creative expedition.
Thank you for being a part of my photographic odyssey.
